Venice Token (VVV)

VENICE TOKEN (VVV)

PRIVATE AI POWERED BY VVV

VVV is the native ecosystem token of Venice, a platform for private, permissionless generative artificial intelligence. Launched on 27 January 2025, VVV is an ERC-20 token on Base, an Ethereum layer-2 network. Unlike a cryptocurrency primarily designed for everyday payments, VVV is intended to connect token holders with the computing resources used by Venice's AI services.

Venice offers AI conversations, writing, code and image generation through a consumer application and a developer API. Its goal is to make advanced AI tools more accessible while reducing the amount of personal information retained by the service. Venice says that it does not store users' conversations on its servers; the underlying inference providers still process the requests needed to generate answers.

THE COMPANY BEHIND THE TOKEN

Venice AI was founded in 2024 by Erik Voorhees, a well-known entrepreneur in the cryptocurrency industry. The business focuses on making AI models available through a straightforward web interface and an API that developers can integrate into their own applications. It uses a range of AI models and external computing providers, rather than requiring every customer to run powerful hardware themselves.

Venice's commercial offering and its token are related, but they are not the same thing: people can use Venice services without owning VVV. The token adds an optional way for users, businesses and autonomous AI agents to participate in the platform's model for funding ongoing AI inference.

HOW VVV AND DIEM WORK

Holders can stake VVV through Venice's official token dashboard to receive token staking rewards. Staked VVV can also be locked to mint a separate token called DIEM. DIEM represents a transferable unit of AI computing capacity. Under Venice's published model, staking one DIEM provides US $1 of Venice API credit per day, subject to the platform's current terms and eligible usage. This credit is for Venice services; it is not a promise that DIEM can be redeemed for one dollar in cash.

The design is intended to help developers and AI agents plan their computing costs: they can maintain access to Venice's text, image and other supported models through a recurring inference allowance, instead of relying entirely on individual pay-per-request payments. Token prices, staking yields, minting rates and product terms can change, and VVV remains a volatile crypto asset.

HOW TO JOIN THE PROJECT

Anyone interested in Venice can try the AI application at venice.ai or read the API documentation to build a tool using its models. Those specifically exploring VVV can review the official token dashboard, verify the Base network token details and learn how staking and DIEM work before connecting a wallet. Staking uses on-chain transactions and may require ETH on Base for network fees. Never send VVV directly to a staking contract address.
